QR Codes

Print a QR code for each hive and stick it on the lid. Scanning it on your phone jumps straight to that hive — perfect for starting an inspection without searching for the hive in a list.

When you generate codes you choose where they point:

  • Hive detail page — opens the hive's overview.
  • Mobile inspection wizard — jumps directly into a new inspection for that hive.
  • Audio quick inspection — opens the audio recording flow for that hive.

Printing QR Codes in Bulk

Use the print page (/hives/qr-codes/print) to lay out codes for many hives at once:

  1. Select the hives to include.
  2. Choose a size (small, medium, large) and a layout (e.g. 2×3, 2×4, 3×3 per page).
  3. Optionally include the Hive-Pal logo on each label.
  4. Pick the target the codes link to (detail page, inspection wizard, or audio quick).
  5. Print the page and attach the labels to your hives.

Single-Hive QR Code

You can also grab a QR code for one hive from its detail page — open the QR code dialog from the hive's side menu.

FAQ

Do I need an internet connection to scan? Scanning opens a URL to your Hive-Pal instance, so the device needs to reach your server (over your network or the internet, depending on your setup).

Can I make the codes open straight into an inspection? Yes — choose the mobile inspection wizard (or audio quick) as the target when generating the codes.

What should I print them on? Weatherproof labels hold up best on hive lids exposed to sun and rain.
